This was the kind of wedding that sticks with you. The sort where the people are lovely, the place feels meaningful, and the camera practically dances on its own.
Harriet and Tim were married at the Church of St Peter & St Paul in Kingsbury, and honestly, what a place to say "I do." The church is right next door to Harriet’s childhood home, which added so much personal weight to the ceremony. Built around the year 1200, it's one of those places that makes you stop and take it all in. Ancient stone, worn paths, and this incredible tree right by the church doors. It was huge and offered the most welcome shade, especially since the sun was doing its best impression of a heat lamp. You could feel the buzz in the air, both from the guests and the weather.
Starting the Day at Home
The morning started at Harriet’s family home, and wow, what a house. It was filled with framed memories, happy faces on every wall, and this real sense that the people who live there love hard and live well. Harriet had her final touches done in her childhood bedroom, where the light gave that warm, soft look that makes every photo look like a hug.
One of the standout moments was her first look with her dad. Now I’ve seen some emotional ones, but this one caught me off guard. He wasn’t just proud, he looked a little bit overwhelmed in the best way. Not surprised by her beauty, but more by the fact that she was stepping into a whole new life. As a dad to a daughter myself, I suddenly had a very real glimpse of what's ahead for me. I won’t lie, I had to pretend I was checking my camera settings for a second.
A Kingsbury Ceremony to Remember
The Kingsbury Wedding Ceremony felt like something out of a storybook. The church, with its centuries of history, held everyone in this still, peaceful moment while Harriet and Tim said their vows. Outside, guests lingered under the shade of that giant tree, trying to stay cool in the 30-degree heat. But no one was complaining. There were smiles everywhere.
From Kingsbury to Catherine-de-Barnes
After the ceremony, we all headed over to a little gem of a restaurant in Catherine-de-Barnes called Fox. From the street, it looked like a quaint café you’d stop at on a Sunday walk. Inside, though, it opened up into a full-on, beautifully styled restaurant. Sixty guests fitted inside perfectly, and the atmosphere was all laughter, clinking glasses, and that good kind of chaos where people don’t want to sit still because they’re too busy catching up with everyone they love.
Tim’s family had travelled over from Holland, and they brought the joy with them. Full of humour and warmth, they were the kind of people who make you feel like you’ve known them for years.
It did rain for a bit, which was kind of hilarious considering how hot it had been all day. It wasn’t a full-on storm, but enough to make everyone dash for cover like it was a game of musical chairs. No one minded though, it actually gave everyone a chance to huddle closer and made the indoor reception feel even more intimate.
A Speech With Heart
Harriet gave a beautiful speech that really stuck with me. She spoke about growing up in that lovely house with her parents and sisters, and how hard they worked while always making time for family. It reminded me of my own mum, who did exactly the same. It’s those reflections that sneak up on you and make you feel all kinds of grateful.
She also talked about meeting Tim while skiing, which makes perfect sense. They have that kind of story that feels a bit like fate but still totally believable because they’re just so good together.
It was one of those weddings where everything just worked. The location, the people, the emotions that bubbled up when no one was expecting them. I’m chuffed to have been a part of it.
Scroll through the photos, soak up the good vibes, and if something resonates, give me a shout. I’m always happy to talk weddings.
