Some weddings stick with you long after the confetti’s been swept up and the cake’s been boxed for the freezer. Paige and Dave’s wedding at Brook Marston Farm Hotel was exactly that kind of day. Sunny skies, a few gusts of cheeky wind, and enough laughter to carry through the hotel’s courtyard and out along the canal.
Before we get into the good stuff, quick shoutout to the absolute stars behind the scenes: Sarah worked her magic on hair for Paige and her bridesmaids, while Kacey nailed the makeup. The whole crew looked flawless, without feeling overdone. Effortlessly glam, like they all woke up like that.
Morning Preps
The morning kicked off inside the hotel itself. No mad dashes between venues or rushing to beat the clock. Everything felt calm, like the universe had agreed to give them a chilled start to the day. Paige got ready with her bridesmaids in one of the hotel rooms, with a good mix of nerves and excitement. It was one of those prep rooms filled curling tongs and the low buzz of people trying not to cry too early.
Then came the moment Paige saw her dad and nan for the first time. No crowd, no big performance, just real emotion in the room she got ready in. Her dad’s face said it all. Her nan’s wasn’t far behind either. Beautiful, honest moments like that are what I live for with Sutton Coldfield wedding photography.
The Ceremony
The courtyard at Brook Marston Farm Hotel is a bit of a hidden gem. Set right beside the canal and framed by ivy-covered brickwork, it’s proper charming without trying too hard. They held the ceremony outdoors, surrounded by family and friends, and a healthy number of tissues.
Now, here’s the bit that will be told at every family gathering for the next 30 years, as Paige walked down the aisle, a rogue gust of wind snatched her veil clean off her head. Just gone. But instead of panicking, Paige laughed. And that kind of set the tone for the day. Laid-back, joyful, and full of character.
The Reception
After the ceremony, it was into the hotel’s marquee-style reception area. If you haven’t seen it before, imagine white pleated ceilings, soft fairy lights twinkling above, and big windows that let in tons of natural light. It’s like the venue wants to help you get good photos. As a Tamworth wedding photographer, I’ve seen my fair share of wedding reception rooms, and this one’s a winner.
The setup was clean and elegant. No fuss, no drama. Just good food, emotional speeches, and loads of smiles. People spilled out onto the patio, some wandered down to the canal, and a few ended up by the little pool outside the carpark, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you can breathe and actually enjoy yourself.

The Vibe
This wasn’t a wedding about ticking boxes or doing things just because you’re “supposed” to. It was real. Honest. A couple surrounded by people who clearly love the bones off them. Paige and Dave didn’t just plan a day, they created an atmosphere, relaxed, personal and full of warmth.
As a Birmingham wedding photographer, it’s always my aim to capture not just how the day looked, but how it felt. Paige and Dave made that easy. Every laugh, every little moment, every proud tear from their families, it’s all there in the photos.
Thanking the Crew
It takes a small army to pull off a wedding this good. Big thanks again to:
- Sarah’s Styles for being the hair whisperer
- Kacey Michelle Makeup for flawless faces all round
- The lovely team at Brook Marston Farm Hotel, who looked after everyone like they were family
