Some weddings are elegant. Some are emotional. Some are just full of laughter from the moment you arrive until the dance floor fills up.
Michael and Abi's wedding at Bordesley Park wedding venue managed to be all three.
Set in the rolling Worcestershire countryside just outside Redditch, is one of those venues that feels peaceful from the second you arrive. Surrounded by open fields and countryside views, it has a relaxed feel that never loses its sense of occasion. It's easy to see why it's become such a popular choice for couples looking for a modern wedding with plenty of character.
With temperatures soaring on one of the hottest days of the year, everyone had one mission... stay cool, enjoy every moment and celebrate Michael and Abi becoming husband and wife.
Morning Preparations
The day started exactly how you'd hope.
Lots of laughter.
Abi and her bridal party got ready in the beautiful preparation suite above the ceremony room, giving everyone plenty of space to relax while hair, makeup and those final finishing touches came together. There was a lovely buzz in the room all morning, helped by plenty of jokes and the occasional happy tear.
Across the courtyard, Michael and the lads were getting ready in the dedicated groom's room above the bar. It was the perfect place to escape the heat for a while, enjoy a drink together and pretend nobody was checking their watches every five minutes.
One thing I love about Bordesley Park wedding photography is how close everything is. Nobody spends the morning travelling between locations, which means there's more time to relax and enjoy the experience.
The Ceremony
The purpose-built ceremony room is one of the highlights of the venue.
Large windows frame the Worcestershire countryside, filling the room with natural light and giving guests beautiful views throughout the ceremony. It feels intimate without being cramped, creating an atmosphere where every smile, every laugh and every emotional glance feels that little bit more personal.
As Abi made her entrance, the room became noticeably quieter.
You could see the emotion on both of their faces. There were smiles, a few watery eyes and plenty of laughter mixed in, which summed them up perfectly as a couple.
They never stopped looking at each other.
Those are the moments I love capturing. The ones that happen naturally without anyone thinking about the camera.
Portraits Around Bordesley Park
Even with the summer heat doing its best to melt everyone, we managed to make the most of everything the venue has to offer.
The countryside surrounding Bordesley Park creates an incredible backdrop for wedding portraits.
Open views, mature trees, landscaped grounds and beautiful light all combine to give photographs a timeless feel.
Michael and Abi made my job incredibly easy. They laughed constantly.
Half the time I wasn't giving directions because they were already making each other laugh before I'd even lifted the camera. Those genuine reactions are always the photographs couples end up loving the most.
Why I Love Bordesley Park Wedding Photography
Every venue has its own personality.
Bordesley Park strikes a brilliant balance between elegant and relaxed. You have dedicated spaces for every part of the day, beautiful countryside views, modern facilities and plenty of opportunities for natural, storytelling photographs without ever needing to leave the venue.
As a Worcester wedding photographer, I always enjoy returning here because every wedding feels different, yet the venue consistently provides beautiful backdrops and fantastic light throughout the day.
Most importantly, it gives couples the space to simply enjoy their wedding without feeling rushed.
That always shines through in the photographs.
A Huge Thank You
A huge thank you to Michael and Abi for trusting me to capture such an incredible day.
It was a pleasure spending the day with two people who smiled, laughed and enjoyed every single minute with the people they love most.
I hope these photographs bring back those memories for many years to come.
