Back in June I shot the engagement session for the lovely Melissa and Gareth. They were a little nervous at first but soon relaxed and started to enjoy the session.
What was great was that we had built a really good relationship at the engagement shoot and over the phone as we planned the big day… and didn't it just show too? The two of them were so relaxed, enjoying the time with their friends and family, ignoring the fact that I was there pointing a camera at them!
I honestly get a real kick out of each wedding I shoot and this one was no different. The pictures below will tell their own story, however, the speeches were, for me, the best part of the day. Gareth clearly has a huge amount of respect and love for his grandad, who I could only assume wasn't too well and was frail, but managed to come and see his grandson get wed. His speech about his grandad was really touching, it gave me goosebumps, probably because I feel very similar about my own grandad. It was very emotional, I'll remember that speech for a long time!
Elmdon Park in Solihull was venue for the ceremony, but a short journey down the road to The Forest Hotel in Dorridge was where we went for the reception. The venue was really lovely, the staff were really helpful, the food was awesome and Mel and Gaz's family were really lovely.
Here are few pictures for you to enjoy!
