Last year you may remember I hosted a competition where a lucky couple had the opportunity to win their wedding photography. The prize included;

  • Full day wedding photography coverage documenting everything
  • Engagement shoot
  • Two consultation sessions
  • All the pictures available for either download or on disc (which ever the customer wants!)

Normally this would cost £595, but to the lucky winners this was all FREE!

The lucky Mary and James from Oswestry won the competition last September and it was only last month that they had their big day. It was amazing, the weather was beautiful, their were plenty of happy smiley faces and even a dinosaur!

The preparations were well underway when I arrived at Mary's mum and dads house, hair being done, make-up being applied and plenty of prosecco and tea flowing (it was me drinking tea!). This is where I met the family, who all really welcomed me into their home and were really relaxed about where I went and took photos. I even met the family pet, Gummy, a cat that has no teeth! At least he couldn't bite me, only give a nasty suck!

The church (Saint John the Baptist) was a few miles down the the road in Whittington directly opposite where we had the formal pictures at Whittington Castle, take a look at the pictures, it's a gorgeous place to go! Even to feed the ducks.

Everything flowed really well too, once we had the pictures done we headed to Oswestry Golf Club where the evening reception was held. Once the dinner was done and everyone was fed, the speeches were made before we all headed out the room to the bar. It was at this point I spotted the opportunity to get the crowd together for an impromptu group photograph. Everyone seemed a little nervous at first about the shot, but after a couple of minutes of explaining what I wanted to achieve, we ended up with this shot…

We all had a great time enjoying some great food and drink, then the party really started with plenty of dancing and other shenanigans!

I really enjoyed this wedding, I honestly feel that I have made some lovely new friends with James and Mary.

So all that's left for to say is congratulations to Mary and James for their wedding day AND winning the great prize! Congratulations!

"We had the most amazing day and cannot thank you enough for the fantastic job you did for us! Our minds were blown by your amazing work and how fun you made it. The photos we have seen look so natural, which is exactly what we wanted ! Winning the competition to have you as our photographer was absolutely one of the best things that could of happened and we are really happy to have met not only a great photographer but a great guy too. We are absolutely thrilled and cannot wait to choose the photographs for our album, it's going to be hard to pick because they'll all be awesome! Our guests thought you were brilliant too- and I have had nothing but positive feedback about your professionalism. This includes the quality of your photographs, your artistic eye as well as your laid back attitude throughout the day. You were able to take some unique photos, which we will always be able to treasure, without being intrusive. We know some of our guests will be booking you for their own weddings and special occasions after seeing your work. We will also recommend you to anyone. We had great fun on our day and looking forward to seeing all the photos. Thank you so much!"
